Lillie Mae Leisure Guillory, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Madisonville, Kentucky, longtime resident of Houma and lived in Harvey for twenty-six years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in the Magnolia Chapel at Chauvin Funeral Home on Sunday, October 21, 2018 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Monday, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at a later date.
Lillie is survived by her loving husband of twenty-six years, Derald Guillory; sons, James Craig Lopez and wife Janice Dumont, David Lynn Lopez and wife Michele Craft, Michael Shane Lopez and companion Connie Hodges, Mark Guillory and wife Kathy Elmore; daughters, Debra L. Harper and companion David Adams, and Stephanie Kall; grandchildren, Richard Harper and wife Jessica, Adam, Philip, and Robert Harper, Dr. James Sidney Lopez, Lauren, Garrett, and Conner Lopez, Taylor Kall, Kullyn, and Arlyn Guillory, Kara Elmore, Stephen, Chastity, and Tori Biggers, Allen Wright; great-grandchildren, Alexander and Ashton Harper, Ysabel Roberts, Lilly Elmore, Della Biggers, Caina Orihuela; nephew, Charles Leisure and wife Janet; niece, Cassie Leisure and wife Robin; Pendley family, Kapust family. She is also survived by her loving and devoted pet dog, Bear.
Lillie is preceded in death by her mother, Cassie Marie Morse Leisure Davidson and husband James Davidson, and father, Charles Franklin Leisure; Lillie’s children’s father, Sidney Lopez, Jr.; son, Johnny Ray Lopez; grandson, Gregory Joseph Lopez; brother, Charles Leisure and sister, Barbara Leisure.
There are no words to truly express the beautiful personality of Lillie Guillory. She was nothing but extraordinary. A beautiful soul, loving, kind, generous, who devoted her life to her family, friends, and her patients when she worked as a Registered Nurse. Lillie worked as a Registered Nurse with over fifty years of service, she had a special place in her heart for each of her patients. She also held many positions over the years, Terrebonne General Medical Center, Chabert Medical Center, Louisiana Health Unit in Marrero, charge nurse of Oncology and the Recovery Unit. Lillie loved her family dearly, but thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren. She was a believer in Christ, loved and served him through his works. She would help anyone in need of assistance. Lillie talked the talk and walked the walk. She stored her treasures in Heaven. Her heart was to big for this world and she now rests in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
