Lawrence Joseph Lovell Sr., 88, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Dularge, LA and a resident of Houma, LA. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00pm until 10:00PM on Friday, December 22, 2017 at their home for public visitation at 130 Vivian Street, Houma LA 70363. Visitation will continue on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Annunziata Catholic Church in Houma, LA from 10:00AM until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow morning visitation at 11:00AM at Annunziata and burial will take place after services in St. Eloi Catholic Church Cemetery in Theriot, LA. Lawrence is survived by his son, Lawrence Lovell Jr. and wife Ann; daughters, Elta Duet and husband Mike, Bessie Solet and husband Easton Solet Sr., Sarah Naquin and husband Mike, and Caroline Portier and husband Troy; daughter-in-law, Jeanie Lovell; sister, Florence Raines; 21 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren and 1 great stepson. Lawrence is preceded in death by his wife Eunice Verret Lovell; parents, Neville Lovell and Marie Billiot Lovell; sons, Horace Lovell and Norris Lovell; brother, Junius Lovell; and sisters, Laura Mae Billiot, Eunice Lovell Matherne, and Mable Molinere. Lawrence loved to make homemade cane syrup and also enjoyed dancing with his family and friends. He loved to garden and watch his reruns of “Lets Make A Deal” and “Sanford & Son”. He loved his little dog, Sweetie. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and will never be forgotten.Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Lovell family.
