Lawrence "L.J." Giroir, Jr., age 79, a beloved and caring man, known for his warm heart and kind spirit, was born on September 28, 1945, in Houma, LA, and passed away peacefully on October 5, 2024, in his home. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
L.J. is survived by his children, Gerard Giroir (Kate), Kelli Barras (Ubain), Raelyn DeHart (Leslie), Patty Babin (Klint), Crystal Lirette (Lloyd); grandchildren, Mason Giroir, Kaitlyn Giroir, Kylie Abel, Kooper Barras, Robert DeHart, Brennan DeHart, Cody DeHart, Krista Orgeron, Brea Verret, Lauren Pitre, Brooke Hyde, Hallee Babin, and six great grandchildren.
L.J. was preceded in death by his loving wife of 36 years, Pearly Mae Giroir; parents, Lawrence Giroir, Sr., Annie Giroir; son, Heath Giroir; brothers, Rudy and Bernie Giroir.
L.J. found joy in cooking, sharing his delicious meals with loved ones and cherishing the time spent with family and friends. Anyone who knew L.J., knew he loved dancing and swamp pop music.
He was proficient in electrical and dabbled in construction work. He enjoyed his work at a dealership transporting vehicles and organizing drivers for parade floats for Mardi Gras season.
A sports enthusiast, he would often be found cheering on the Saints and LSU teams. He enjoyed visiting with his L & R Seafood family.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in Chapel Dauphine at Chauvin Funeral Home on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Visitation will resume on Friday, October 11, 2024 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Bayou Black Cemetery.
Lawrence "L.J." Giroir, Jr. leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, forever etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
