Much of Larry's work life was spent in the ship building industry. From the mid 1960s to the early 1990s he worked at Quality Shipyards, beginning as a yard superintendent and was Vice President at the time he left. From 1996 -2012 Larry was Vice President of Repair at Bollinger Shipyards. He retired from Bollinger to take care of his beloved wife.
One of Larry's passions was serving as commissioner of the Houma-Terrebonne Housing Authority from 2018 until the time of his passing. Those who knew him best on the board knew him to be a dedicated, devoted, committed, and beloved commissioner.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Dr. Dickie Haydel, Dr. Scott Haydel and the Haydel Family Clinic for their great care, the caring nurses, CNAs, and staff of Terrebonne General Medical Center and the doctors and staff of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.
