Larry Porche, Sr.

Larry Porche, Sr., age 86, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 30, 2018. He was a lifelong resident of Houma.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary on September 1, 2018 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Daisy Boudreaux Porche; son, Larry Porche, Jr. and wife Catina LeBouef Porche; daughters, Monica Vedros, and Melissa Hardeman and husband Steve; grandchildren, Jacob, Benjamin, Phillip, and Julie Vedros, Gina Vedros Boquet, Hunter Porche, Margaret and Zachary Hardeman; great-grandchildren, Willa Porche, Jackson Vedros, and Silas Boquet; brother, Curtis Porche.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Elmira Darcey Porche; brother, Clark Porche; sister, Joy Poole; son-in-law, Leroy Vedros; grandson, Hayden Hardeman.

Larry was blessed with a beautiful family. Larry was a great story teller, avid fisherman, and enjoyed visiting his daughter in Arkansas. He volunteered at Holy Rosary Catholic Church for many years. He also volunteered many years with the emergency relief program at Holy Rosary and was proud to be part of the “H Team” who provided meals for the homeless. Larry was employed with Texaco and retired with 36 years of service. Larry proudly served our country in the Korean War.
