Larry James Donaldson Sr.

Larry James Donaldson, Sr., 92, a native of Brusly, LA and resident of Houma, LA passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. 

Family and friends of the family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church in Houma, LA at 11:00am.  Burial will follow Mass at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of seventy-three years, Alice Domangue Donaldson; children, Hope D. Brunet and husband, Ralph;  Susan D. LeDoux; Larry J. Donaldson, Jr. and wife, Dottie;  and Cindy D. Butler and husband, Timothy; grandchildren, Jason and Chad Brunet, Greg Landry, Brian LeDoux, Larry Donaldson III, Joseph “Joey” Butler; great grandchildren, Dylan and Gabe Brunet, Morgan, Parker and Grant Landry, Marleigh LeDoux, and Emma Grace Donaldson.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Laura Donaldson; siblings, Carl Donaldson, Audrey Guidry, Margorie Dusenbery,  Margaret Crochet, Rita Picard, Roland Donaldson, Jr., and Lloyd Donaldson.

Larry was a loving husband and father, grandfather, and great grandfather who cared deeply for his family. Larry also enjoyed playing baseball and bowling with his wife, Alice on the bowling league.

Larry gave of his time faithfully to the community by his service in the Knights of Columbus at St. Gregory. He held many positions and honors including, 3^rd Degree, 4^th Degree and Grand Knight. He also gave of his time volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank. He served as City Councilman from 1974 to 1978. 

Larry will be dearly missed by all his family and friends; but he will never be forgotten and always and forever loved.
