Larry Freeman, Sr.

April 18, 1931 — March 27, 2018

Larry “Peg” Joseph Freeman, Sr., age 86, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was a longtime resident of Houma.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 beginning at 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.

Larry is survived by his children, Larry J. Freeman, Jr., Carla Jane Freeman and Companion Chris Wells, Tamela "Tammy" Freeman, Jenny Freeman Grasso, Thomas Freeman, Sr. and wife, Connie; grandchildren, Angie Freeman, Brittney Lottinger, Gretchen Moore, Jenny Moore, Chrissie Moore, Ashley Lottinger, Philip “Doobie” Lottinger Jr. and wife, Joni, Charles “C.J.” Grasso III, Thomas T.J.” Freeman Jr., Kimberly Grasso, and Evan Freeman; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Rose Freeman, Theresa DuBois and Antoinette Morgan; and sister-in-law, Rhea Freeman; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry is preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Beverly Jackson Freeman; parents, Lawson Freeman, Sr. and Louise Champagne Freeman; brothers, Lawson “L.J.” Freeman, Jr., and Irving "Blackie" Joseph Freeman and his wife, Beulah; and son-in-law, Chris Moore; brothers-in-law, Paul DuBois, and Clint Morgan, Sr.

Larry was a devoted Catholic and Parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Larry “Peg” and Beverly were the former owners of Peg’s Food Mart, and Falgout Canal Marina “The Landing”. He enjoyed dancing with his wife Beverly. Peg also enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing at the camp. Peg’s wife Beverly passed away five months ago. He has now joined her into their eternal home and rests in the arms of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of Haydel Memorial Hospice, and all the caregivers who loved and cared for Peg; especially Amae Barthelemy.
