Lanny Ross, Sr.

June 17, 1938 — May 27, 2021

Lanny Lloyd Ross, Sr., age 82, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 27, 2021. He was a native of El Centro, CA. and a resident of Houma, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in the Magnolia Chapel of Chauvin Funeral Home on Friday, June 4, 2021, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A Military and Mason Ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. His Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery No. 2.

Lanny is survived by his children, Annette Preston and husband Shane, Kathy Roddy, Penny Thibodeaux and husband Rusty, Terri Wurzlow and husband Billy Jr, Michael Ross and wife Lisa and Lanny, Jr and Miriam Falgout, mother of his children; stepchildren, Steven Landry and Family and Julie Landry and Family; grandchildren, Brandon Thibodeaux, Dustin Thibodeaux, Hunter Wurzlow, Steven Wurzlow, Taylor McNamara; great grandchildren, Aubrie Wurzlow, Hayes Wurzlow, Sky Thibodeaux and Gabriel McNamara, brothers Michael Pulliam and Family and Steven Pulliam and Family and many nieces and nephew.

Lanny is preceded in death by his father, John Lloyd Ross; mother, Wanda Pulliam and Husband Harless; sister, Laverne Lynch and Husband Tim; brother, Russell and wife Edwina, wife Karen Landry Ross.

Lanny was a loving father, and grandfather. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed his time active in his community. Lanny was a proud veteran and retired as a Master Sergeant in the United States Airforce. Lanny was a Master Mason and Shriner lodge 267, and member of Southern Oaks Golf Club. Anyone who knew Lanny, knew he was a very patriotic man, loved his country, and looked forward to seeing him ride his trike for Mardi Gras. Lanny will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, he has now been united with his loved ones who passed before him and rests in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  

Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital.
