Kenneth Allen DeCoursey, 85, passed away on August 31 2021 at 11:21pm. Kenneth was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Houma, LA.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 9:00am until service time. Liturgy will begin following visitation at 11:00am at Chauvin Funeral Home with burial following at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Elise Duplantis DeCoursey; children, Amy Delaune and husband Michael, Aline Boquet and husband Craig, John DeCoursey and wife Kelly, and Jimmy DeCoursey and wife Michelle; siblings, Patrick Kurtz and Jerry Kurtz; grandchildren, Adam Miller, Matthew Miller, Matthew Miller, Nicole Frasier, Brandon DeCoursey, Tylor DeCoursey, Jamie DeCoursey, Abbie DeCoursey; great grandchildren, Luc Miller, Alex Miller, Addie Miller, Isabella Claire Miller, Maddox Miller, Jayden Frasier, Jolie Frasier.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Alma Labat DeCoursey; sisters, Patricia Kurtz Bonvillain.

Kenneth loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed being on the water and working on his tug boat as a boat captain. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family when ever they could gather and get together for meals and visits. The family enjoyed his many stories he would share.

His love and compassion will always be remembered by his family and many friends. His character and life will never be forgotten, and he will always be remembered and forever loved.

The family thanks Terrebonne Health Care, all the officers in Blue who helped the night of after the storm as well as the ambulance personnel whom all assisted in their time of need.

The family would like to give a special “Thank you” to Matthew Miller for helping to take care of his grandpa during Kenneth’s illness and also a “Thank you” to Tyler, Brandon DeCoursey.  The family would also like to give their thanks to Fr. Billy of Holy Rosary for his visits and care given to Kenneth during his illness.
