Joy P. Poole, 89, a native and resident of Houma passed away Sunday February 18,2018 at 8:06 AM.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 21,2018 from 5 PM until 9 PM in the Magnolia Chapel of Chauvin Funeral Home and on Thursday February 22,2018 from 8 AM until service time at 11 AM at First Presbyterian Church of Bayou Blue. Interment will follow in Garden of Memorias Cemetery.
Mrs. Joy is survived by her sons, Felix and wife Brenda, Gary and wife Mary, and Judson and wife Christy Poole. Daughters, Gwen and husband Donald (SPIKE) Boudreaux, Dawn and husband Darren Dupre and Donna and husband Theryn Dupre. Brothers, Larry and Curtis (KIP) Porche, and 17 grandchildren, 31 great-granchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Joy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Harold K. Poole, her parents, Felix and Elmira Darcey Porche, Daughter, Jennifer and husband Carol Marcel , Grandsons Joshua and Jarryd Boudreaux and Brother Clark Porche.
She worked for for over 20 years for National Food Stores in the Deli Department and loved hummingbirds, plants, gardening and cooking for her most beloved possession, her family. She was a member of Bayou Blue Presbyterian Church and will be sadly missed by all how knew and loved her.
