Joseph “Jay” Albert Guillot, Jr. age 91, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. He was a native of Plaquemine and a resident of Gibson.
Relative and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in the Chapel Dauphine of Chauvin Funeral Home on Monday, November 30, 2020 beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Military Ceremony will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. followed by a eulogy service. Burial to be held at a later date.
We will be following COVID-19 restrictions regarding social distancing and face masks will be required.
Jay is survived by his son, Joseph “Joey” A. Guillot, III and wife Angela of Moss Bluff, LA; daughters, Phyllis Lynn Guillot Marceaux and husband Elston “D.D.” of Noble, LA, Cynthia Ann Guillot Deslatte and husband Keith of Gibson, LA; Grandchildren: Crystal, Phyllis, Jennifer, James and Brandi; brother, Bev Guillot; sister, Rosalie Goulas and 4 great-grandchildren Cody, Devin, Noah, and Jace.
Jay is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Griselda “Boots” Naomi Carter Guillot; parents, Joseph Sr., and Hazel Rivet Guillot; brother, Leroy Guillot; sister, Marie Essey; granddaughter, Linda Marceaux
Jay blessed our country to have served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and softball of which he was a coach. He was also a boxer, boxing during school and in his service to the U.S. Navy. Anyone who knew Jay, knew about his talent and hard work as a Diesel Mechanic. Jay was a member of Gibson Baptist and spent many days at church serving his Lord and Savior. Jay is now reunited with his love, Griselda, where they will now spend eternity together in the arms of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
