John Moore

John Samuel Moore, aged 88 years passed to his Heavenly Father on Sunday October 29,2017. Visitation will be held on Friday November 3,2017 from 9 AM until service time at First Baptist Church of Houma. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM. Mr. Moore is survived by his son: John S. Moore,II., daughters Vickie Smith and husband Cliff, Stella Carroll Prosperie and husband Don, and Kay Colleen Labat and husband Curtis, sisters, JoAnn Davenport and Juanita Raburn, 6 grandchildren, Allison Burke and husband Tim, Dr. Nicole Prosperie, Emily Bremer and husband Justin, Tim Smith and wife Shelby, Matthew and Michael Labat, and great grandchildren: Emma, Preston, Kya, Jack, London, Griffin and Samuel. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Barbara Carroll Moore, brothers, Allen Jr. and Jack Moore and sister Katherine L. Moore, and his parents, Allen J. Sr. and Stella Phillips Moore. Mr. Moore was a proprietor and entrepreneur in the oilfield industry, who enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, football and baseball. He was also a Mason Shriner and Deacon at First Baptist Church of Houma for many years having taught Sunday School. He was a hardworking father who loved his wife and family. A special and heartfelt thanks to Dr. Richard Haydel, Haydel Memorial Hospice and their amazing staff for their kindness and also to his extraordinary caregivers, Katrina Folse, Connie Oden, and Paula Price for their compassion beyond words. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials to be made to First Baptist Church of Houma, Boystown or Shriners. Chauvin Funeral is honored to serve the Moore family.
