John Kelley, Jr.

John Thomas Kelley Jr., 87, passed away Tuesday December 5, 2017 at 10:52PM. He was a native of Ada, OK and a resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will begin on Friday, December 8, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Houma, LA from 9:00AM until service time. Funeral Services will begin at First United Methodist Church on Friday at 11:00AM with burial to follow services in Garden of Memories Cemetery. John is survived by his loving Wife Betty Ann Doss Kelley; Children, Shannon Kelley, John Kelley and wife Cecelia Ann Kelley and; Grandchildren, Amanda Chloe Graham and husband Elijah and Elizabeth Claire Kelley. John is preceded in death by his Parents, John Thomas Kelley and Chloe Smith Kelley. John proudly served in the United States Marine Corp and is a combat veteran of the Korean War, serving on the front lines during the conflict. John, though born in Ada, OK; transplanted to Louisiana in 1954. He quickly fell in love with Louisiana culture and the many wonderful people of the Cajun State and local waters of Terrebonne Parish. John was an avid golfer and golfing was his passion. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. John was a dedicated member of First United Methodist Church and was often asked to cook for their gatherings and get togethers. He was known for his skill at the Barbeque.
