John Harold Haydel,74, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and friends, at 9:43AM, Wednesday, September 12, 2018. He was a native and resident of Houma, Louisiana.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, September 14, 2018, at Maria Immaculata Catholic Church in Houma, Louisiana from 9:00AM until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00AM with burial to follow in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.
Harold is survived by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Mary Ann Haydel; Mother, Mrs. Ellen Arceneaux Haydel; Children, Monique Haydel Trahan and husband Jeff and their sons, Blake Matthew Trahan, Zachary John Trahan, and Seth Michael Trahan; Darren Michael Haydel and wife Sarah Alexander Haydel and daughters, Brooke Ashley Haydel, Katie Blair Haydel, Morgan Elizabeth Haydel, and Sarah Taylor Haydel; Sarah Haydel Chauvin and husband Dean Paul Chauvin Jr. and their children Noah Francis Chauvin and Emma Elizabeth Chauvin; brothers, Barry Haydel and wife Mary and Ronnie Haydel and wife Faith, and Mother-in-Law, Gladys Amedee.
He is preceded in death by his father, Andrew Jules Haydel, and father-in-Law, Lloyd Joseph Amedee.
Harold served his country in the United States National Guard and was a graduate of Saint Francis de Sales Boys School. He was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. Harold was a faithful Catholic who had a love for the Holy Family and his Faith. He was a devoted father, grandfather, friend, and lifelong lover of all sports. He lived everyday to the fullest. Harold was often heard saying, “Stay close to God and treat every day as a holiday and every meal as a feast.”
Harold was an inspiration and brought joy to everyone he met.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to Maria Immacolata Church and School and Vandebilt Catholic High School.
The Haydel family would like to thank Dr. Dicky Haydel and Dr. Rob Alexander. He was also blessed with four loving caregivers, Toshia Givens, Jennifer Brunet, Shelby Glynn, and Debbie Mitchell. The family also send their thanks to Houma Health care and a very special thanks to Nurse Mary Guillory.
