John Burgess

John Wilson Burgess, age 59, passed away surrounded by loving family and friends on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 11:59 pm. He was a native of Houma and a resident of Bourg.

John is survived by his wife of 3 years, Sherry Lynn Holloway Burgess; son, Eric Burgess; stepsons, Joshua Peppers, and Nathan Peppers and wife, Bonnie; sisters, Nancy B. Pellegrin and husband, Erroll, Peggy Burgess Iacona, and Wanda Burgess; brothers, William D. Burgess and wife Bonnie, and Glynn E. Burgess and wife, Cindy; and 4 step-grandchildren.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Billy Ray Sr. and Simonne Marie Chauvin Burgess; brother, Todd A. Burgess.

John was a loving husband and a true friend. He was a gentle soul who loved living life and was kind to everyone he met.

John will be dearly missed and always remembered for his great big heart by everyone who knew him.  

A Celebration of John’s life will held at a future announced date.
