Jimmie Jay "Jim" Blanchard, A native of Pulaski, Iowa and long time resident of Houma passed away peacefully on May 27, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held in Jim's honor at Chauvin Funeral Home, Houma, LA beginning with Visitation Friday, June 2, 2017 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM with a Memorial Celebration of his life by family and friends beginning at 7:00PM. He was preceded in death by his father Elza, mother Mildred and wife of 45 years Novelyn. He is survived by his brother Kent, sister-in law Elizabeth, sister Suzanne, son Jay, daughter-in law Fay, daughter Vondalyn and four grand children - Trey, Brittany, Trent and Kaitlyn. An unforgettable character with a broad sense of humor, Jim loved everyone he met and was always quick with a and handshake and a joke. His smile was infectious and he set everyone at ease with his easy going demeanor. He was well respected by his peers in the oil industry and always did whatever it took to get the job done. He was an avid model railroader, showing and sharing an attention to detail many admire. Best of all, he was a loving father, outstanding husband and generous friend.
