Jerry Cooper, Sr.

Jerry Bruce Cooper, Sr., aged 78 years, a native of San Augustine, Texas and resident of Houma, died on Monday November 6,2017 at 6:32 A.M. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 8,2017 at Chapel Magnolia of Chauvin Funeral Home from 5 PM until 9 PM and on Thursday November 9, 2017 from 8AM until Service time at 11AM.   Mr. Cooper will then be transported to Watson & Sons Funeral Home 1554 Highway 7, Center, Texas for visitation Friday morning from 9 Am until service at 11:00 AM with interment to follow in Patroon Cemetery, Patroon, Texas, beside his beloved wife who predeceased him in August of this year. Mr. Cooper is survived by his son Jerry B. Cooper, Jr and his daughter Alisa C. Boquet and husband Randy, his sister Janette Bennefield and grandsons Chase and Zach Boquet. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years Alice Joy Goodwyn Cooper, his parents, Robert and Lois Dwire Cooper,; his daughter Melissa Cooper, and an infant brother, Robert Cooper. He was a tool operator in the oil industry with Halliburton for 38 years, a U.S. Army Veteran, and member of the NRA and American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, television game shows and westerns. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Cooper family.
