Jerry Paul Babin

Jerry Paul Babin, 84, a native of Raceland and longtime resident of Houma, LA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 9, 2023. 

Family and friends are invited to a visitation in his honor on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Chauvin Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until a Liturgy of the Word at 11:00 a.m. Military honors will be held at 10:15 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Francis Cemetery No. 2. 
Jerry is survived by his daughters, Sabrina Bourg (Channon), Angela Babin, and Dawn Gautreaux; stepdaughter, Kathleen Deroche; siblings, Joyce Dufrene, Robert Babin, and Felix Babin; and grandchildren, Taylor Verrett, Colby Verrett (Kristen), Kora Dean (Kendall), Kameren Bourg, Jalen Bourg, Dawn Prosperie (Dale), Bridget Miller (Chad), Corinne Bergeron (Steven), Travis Pellegrin, Casey Pellegrin, Brandon Babin, and numerous more.

He was preceded in passing by his loving wife of 42 years, Joyce Babin; parents, Delmas and Blanche Babin; son, Todd Babin; stepson, Glynn Pellegrin; brothers, Warren Joe Babin; and stepbrother, Junius Babin. 

Jerry was a vibrant and compassionate soul who embraced life with a joy that was infectious to everyone around him. He had a remarkable sense of humor. Jerry's charm and wit brought laughter and happiness to countless people throughout his life. His comedic talent touched hearts, and his legacy as a comedian will live on through the memories he created.

He and his wife adored dancing and found pure bliss on the dance floor. Whether it was a quickstep or a slow waltz, his moves exuded grace and elegance, captivating all who watched. 

When he was younger, he enjoyed the serenity of hunting and fishing, where his love for the outdoors thrived. These activities brought him a sense of peace, allowing him to connect with the beauty of nature and create lasting memories.

Jerry's unconditional love extended to his loyal companion, Jet, his beloved dog. Their bond was unbreakable, and Jerry cherished their adventures and companionship. Jet was a constant source of joy and comfort, providing unconditional love during both the good and challenging times.

Jerry Paul Babin's presence in our lives will be deeply missed but always treasured. His memory will be forever etched in the hearts of his loved ones, friends, and community.
May we find comfort in the memories we have of Jerry Paul Babin and may his vibrant spirit continue to live on in our hearts.
