In Loving Memory of Jeanette Simon
Jeanette Simon, a beloved wife, caring mother, and devoted grandmother, passed away on December 30, 2023, in her home in Houma, LA. She was 91 years old.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to honor and celebrate Jeanettes life on Wednesday, January 3, 2024; at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Francis cemetery No. 2. All are welcomed to wear vibrant colors to reflect on her amazing and loving personality.
Jeanette is survived by her loving husband Norman Simon for 65 years; children; Michele Simon; Raymond Simon and wife Kendra Develle Simon; grandchildren, Sr. Deo Gratias, Douglas, Kenneth, Grace, Gregory, Jacob, and Owen; great grandchildren, Arabella, Brooklyn, Arthur, Evangeline, Regina, Emma and Avery; grand dogs, David and Hope; sister, Rita Legendre
She is preceded in death by her father, Alfred Legendre, and her mother, Wildred Breaux Legendre; daughter, Monique LeBlanc; sisters, Pearl McCarty, Clarisse Legendre;
Jeanette was born on June 13, 1932, in Houma, LA to Alfred and Wildred Legendre. She grew up in Houma and attended local schools, where she excelled academically. After completing her education, Jeanette dedicated her life to creating a warm and loving home as a homemaker.
Jeanette's most cherished role was as a loving wife for 65 years to her spouse, Norman Simon. Their union was one that exemplified commitment, support, and unconditional love. Jeanette's caring nature extended beyond her immediate family, as she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always taking pleasure in their presence and engaging in their lives.
Known for her warm and welcoming demeanor, Jeanette was adored by all who knew her. She possessed a gentle soul and an unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As a devout parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Jeanette found solace and strength in her spiritual community.
Jeanette had a deep fondness for the color pink. Whether it was through her choice in clothing or the flowers she carefully tended to in her garden, this vibrant hue brought her joy and radiated her vibrant spirit.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her beloved spouse, Norman Simon, and their children and grandchildren.
In this time of sorrow, may we find solace in the memories we shared with Jeanette and hold onto the love she so generously bestowed upon us. She will forever remain in our hearts as an embodiment of compassion, warmth, and unwavering devotion.
Forever remembered, forever missed. Rest in peace, dear Jeanette.
