Janet Lapeyrouse

Janet Marie Lajaunie Lapeyrouse, 84, a native of Montegut, LA and resident of Houma, LA, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 4:30pm, a week before her 85th birthday.

Family and friends of the family are invited to a visitation on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 6:00pm until 8:30pm with a recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg, LA at 11:00am with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chauvin, LA.

Janet is survived by her loving family; her son, Eric Lapeyrouse (Lisa); grandchildren, Joshua Lapeyrouse (Brittney), Seth Lapeyrouse, Sean Lapeyrouse (Courtney), Celeste Lapeyrouse Hebert (Alec), Jacob Lapeyrouse (Julia), Caleb Lapeyrouse, Dylan Lennep, Derek Lennep, Brittany Lapeyrouse, and Ashley Lapeyrouse; many loving great grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Kathy Lajaunie and Glenda Lajaunie.

Janet is preceded in passing by her husband of forty-nine years, Eris Lapeyrouse; parents, Willard Lajaunie Sr. and Eugenie Brunet Lajaunie; son, Alvin Lapeyrouse; daughter, Dana Lapeyrouse Belanger; brothers, Willard Lajaunie Jr., Randall Lajaunie; and sister, Shirley Lajaunie Gautreaux (Camille).

Janet was a busy homemaker all of her life. She especially loved doing laundry and would often spend time at her children's homes helping them catch up. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and would dote on them with lots of candies and snacks. She was famous for her condensed milk cakes for all of their birthdays. In her spare time, she loved watching the Hallmark Channel and knew all the actors by name. She also loved her Saints and LSU football.
