It is with great sadness that the family of, Jane Roberts, announces her passing on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at age 80. She was born on November 11, 1936 and was a native and resident of Houma. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 9 am until service time at 11 am. Burial will be held in Bayou Black Cemetery. She is survived by her sons, Fay Portier, Jr and Roland Roberts; daughters, Christine Bourg and husband, Paul, Arlene Franko and husband, Jack, and Robin Stevens and husband, John; sister, Opal Marcel; sisters-in-law, Mary Linda and Veronica Arceneaux; grandchildren, Brittany, Angelica , Alexander (Trena) Boudwin, and Ryan Roberts; great-grandchild, Skylar Boudwin. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Bessie Hebert Arceneaux; brothers, Alvin and Walter Arceneaux; brother-in-law, Maurice Marcel. She worked at Bayou Delight Restaurant for almost 30 years, she retired at 79 years old. She enjoyed cutting grass, feeding wild birds and stray cats. She loved shopping every week with her daughter Robin. She also loved looking out her kitchen window, waiting for her son, Roland to blow his horn as he passed by. She also loved reconnecting with her daughter, Arlene, the last six months of her life. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Heritage Manor for their kindness, care, and loving support and to St. Catherine’s Hospice.
