James Williams, Jr.

James Williams Jr., 69, passed away surrounded by his family on July 19, 2018. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Houma, LA.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at First Baptist Church of Houma on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM and continue at First Baptist Church of Houma on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 9:30AM until service time. Funeral Services will begin on Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Houma starting at 1:00PM. Burial will follow services in Garden of Memory Cemetery.

James is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Terry Williams; children, Cacynda M. Williams, Monnie Ann Tovar (Omar), Landa Williams, Miranda Williams, James “Bookie” Williams Sr. (Sandy); seventeen grandchildren, John Kevin, Emile Jr., Amanda, Casey, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Mekayla, KhiaLyn, Andrea, Kelsee, Alexis, Breanha, Omar Jr., Jasmine, Jalen, James Jr., Kaden, and six great-grandchildren; mother, Gloria Dardar Williams; sisters, Rita Mae Billiot (Perry), Betty Carbo (Jerry); brothers, Clarence Billiot (Evelyn), Roland Williams, David Williams (Maria), and cousin and best friends, Jerry and Gail Dardar. James is also survived by many loving and numerous nieces and nephews.

James is preceded in death by his father, James Williams Sr., brothers, Gene Thibodaux, Thomas Williams, Herman Williams, Charles Williams; sister, Mary Trosclair; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Williams.

James is a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.

James loved to shrimp on his favorite trawling boats, “The Runaway Child”, “Terry James”, and “Lady Terry”. He enjoyed playing card games with his family and never missed a game of Pedro; set Gail back, make her fuss.

James was a kind and generous person and he never met a stranger. He loved family gatherings and being surrounded by his family. He touched many peoples hearts and lives throughout his life.

The family would like to thank the staff and T.G.M.C. and Amedysis Home Health, Fresenius Dialysis Center and Acadian Ambulance. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those he loved and met. He will never be forgotten and always loved.
