James Ratcliff

James Earl "Red" Ratcliff, 95, a native of Silver Creek, MS and resident of Houma, LA; passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 4:18am.

Family and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 10:00am to service time. Ministry Services will take place on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 1:00pm with burial taking place after services in Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery in Houma, LA.

James is survived by his loving family; his children, Billie LeBlanc, Betty Babin (Leroy), Bobby Ratcliff (Patty), Johnny Ratcliff (Debra); grandchildren, Dayla Buquet (Greg), Lee Babin (Haejin), Kelli Naquin (Joshua), Misty Richard (Lance), Bobby Ratcliff III (Summer), Brad Ratcliff and Dylan Ratcliff (Jamie); and many loving great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Blair, and Camille Daniels.

James is preceded in passing by his loving wife, Eva Lirette Ratcliff; parents, James Edgar Ratcliff and Eunice Sanders Ratcliff; sister, Frankie Clark, brothers, Haynes Ratcliff and Mitchell Ratcliff; son-in-law, Michael LeBlanc, and grandson, Jake Ratcliff.

James enjoyed watching his favorite football teams. He never missed a Saints, LSU, or Ole'Miss football game. He liked to work in his garden.

James had an incredible memory and could recall memories from his early past.

He will be forever missed and never forgotten by his family and friends.
