Jack Alton Dailey, 83, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 12:37pm. Jack was a native of Fulton, AR and a resident of Houma, LA.
Family and friends of the family are invited to attend visitation on Saturday, January 16, 2021 from 11:30am to service time at Chauvin Funeral Home. A Memorial service will begin on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Chauvin Funeral Home at 1:00pm.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Ardeth Herrington Dailey; children, Teresa Benoit and husband Tab and their son Tab Benoit Jr.; Diane Holman and her children Bradley Martin; Ashlie Scott and husband Faurice and their daughter Lacy, Faurice IV, and Kevin; Anita Work and husband John and their children Polly Leanne Featherston and husband Pat and their son Adron; Amanda Rossi, Tammy Parlette and husband Roland Parlette; daughter-in-law, Jerrie Dailey and her children Tyler and Mark Dailey, Kiersten Ratliff and husband David and their son Jaxon.
Jack is preceded in death by his father, John Stroud; mother, Maggie Cox Dailey; son, Jack Dailey Jr.; siblings, Henry “Bill” Dailey, Pete Parson, Ann Crisp, Jolly Bradford, Lavonne Dailey, Janette Dailey.
Jack was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church and cooked for their Vacation Bible School and Wednesday night prayer. Jack graduated from Nashville High in Nashville, AR and worked at Borden Milk before beginning work at Day and Zimmerman Ammunition Plant. Later in life he worked for Halliburton before retiring from Ochsner.
Jack was named All State in 9th grade until graduating in 12th grade. He was also All District for the Nashville Scrappers football team. Jack also was a semi-pro catcher for the Nashville Rooks and was awarded MVP.
Jack was a loving husband; father, grandfather and great grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to cook for family and friends and enjoyed bowling and competing in tournaments. Jack enjoyed the outdoors and birdwatching.
He will be tremendously missed by all who knew him. He will never be forgotten and always loved by his many friends and family.
