Jace Prejean

July 15, 1956 — December 16, 2018

Jace Arthur Prejean, age 62, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 16, 2018. He was a native and a resident of Houma. Visitation will be held in the Magnolia Chapel of Chauvin Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Funeral Mass will be held at the church at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in St. Francis No. 2 Cemetery. Jace is survived by his wife, Carolyn Dupre Prejean; son, Michael Prejean, and wife, Sarah; sister, Pam Guidry and husband, Dr. Bruce Guidry; brother, Jon Prejean and wife, Sandi; sister-in-law, Nancy Gallop Flaspohler; nieces and nephews, Nancy Claire, Scott, Elisa, Melanie, Christopher, Stacy, and Lauren; and mother-in-law, Dolores Ray Dupre. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Cecile Pierron Prejean; brother, Walt Prejean; niece, Amanda Guidry; and father-in-law, Reynold Dupre. Jace was the owner of Bayou Printing & Graphics, Inc. for 35 years and Dooley’s Nightclub. He was a founding member and past president of the National Print Owners Association, past president of the Gulf Coast Association of Quick Printers, and a member of the Southeast Printers Performance Group. He also served on the board of directors for the Houma-Terrebonne Jaycees, Kiwanis Club of Houma, Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce, and was a former member of Houma Elks Lodge, Knights of Columbus, a member of the Krewe of Hercules, and the Krewe of Terreanians. The family thanks Haydel Memorial Hospice for their compassionate care. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Prejean family.
