Hazel Lee

July 21, 1921 — November 10, 2018

Hazel Champagne Lee, 97, a native of Theriot, Louisiana and resident of Houma, Louisiana, passed away Saturday November 10,2018 at 2:00 AM.

Visitation will be held beginning at 9:30 AM Tuesday November 13,2018 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 with interment to follow in Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Mausoleum.

Mrs. Hazel is survived by her son, Bart Lee and wife Lynn; daughters Karen LeBourgeois and companion Stephen Hastings, Winona Pugh and husband Kelly, Edwina Giroir and husband Lynn, Juanita Murphy and husband Mike, and Jane Dumond; brother, Chester Champagne and wife Shirley and sisters, Mayola Wilkerson, Myrtle Lou Battaglia, Mary Ellen Landry and husband Joseph, and Geralyn Molaison and husband Emelton. Grandchildren, Michelle Landry, Chris LeBourgeois, Michael Pugh, Lori Morgan, Dean, Pat, Bradley and Craig Giroir, Claire and Michael Murphy, Jesse and Raymond Lee, Becky Webb, Christy Boquet, Devon and Jacques Dumond and Emily Mancil. 32 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Raymond Edwin Lee; her parents Oscar O. and Orphise Dumond Champagne; infant daughter, Margaret Lee; infant granddaughter, Rebecca LeBourgeois; brother, Hubert Champagne, Sr. and sister Irma Pye.

She was a 1938 graduate of Terrebonne High School and a homemaker who loved cooking, sewing, gardening and being with family and friends. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and a member of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Ladies Altar Society.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials may be made to St. Jude Research Center or Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church. 8594 Main Street; Houma, LA 70363.

A special and heartfelt thanks is extended to Hospice of South Louisiana and nurse, Kacie Gautreaux, and to Christy Boquet, Velma Williams, and Becky Webb.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
