Grace Chauvin

May 4, 1934 — June 24, 2021

Grace Pellegrin Chauvin,87, a native and resident of Chauvin, LA passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 7:46PM. 

Family and friends of the family are invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin, LA from 10:30AM until Mass time.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at St. Joseph Church at 12:30PM.  Burial will take place after services in St. Joseph Church Cemetery.

Grace is survived by her loving husband of sixty-eight years, Ferrel Chauvin; sons, Marlyn Chauvin and wife JoAnn, Glenn Chauvin and wife Tammy, Peter Chauvin and wife Amelia; daughters, Mary Brunet and husband Burt, Pamela Lyons and husband Albert; sisters, Betty LeCompte, and Carolyn Dupre and husband Floyd; brother-in-law, D.J. and his wife Lucy Chauvin;  grandchildren, Becky Hebert and husband Aaron, Myles Brunet and wife Monique, Hunter Brunet and wife Beth, Ronnie Chauvin and wife Melissa, Tracy Chauvin and husband Ty, Craig Chauvin and wife Candace, Jamie Bourg and husband Jordy, Chancey Chauvin and wife Amber, Cindy Sibley and husband David, Katie Chauvin, Lynsie Dupre and husband Jeff, and Cody Lyons and fiance’ Madison; and eighteen loving great grandchildren.

Grace is preceded in death by her parents, Gustave and Eula Blanchard Pellegrin; sister, Rena “To To” Thibodeaux and her husband, T-Lin; parents-in-law, Dewey and Lucretia Chauvin; brothers-in-law, T Ray LeCompte, Henry “Brazoo” Chauvin and his wife Beulah; sister-in-law, Lois Portier and her husband Clovis.

Grace was an elegant lady in every way who greatly loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her whole family.

“Mawmaw fought Alzheimer’s for many years and even as her world was changing and we became lost memories; if you looked in her eyes you could still see the love and that twinkle...”

The family would like to give a special “thank you” to Margaret, Joella, Tiffany, and Hospice of South Louisiana for their love and care given to Grace and family in their time of need.
