Gloria St. John King, age 73, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017. She was loved dearly by her family and is now reunited with her husband, Kenneth King, Sr. and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church on Thursday, November 16, 2017 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery no. 2. Gloria is survived by her son, Kenneth King, Jr., and wife Jamie Medine King of Houma LA; daughters, Kelly J. King, and Kara King Griffin and husband Jason of Houma LA; grandchildren, Rebecca, William, Matthew, and Grant Michael King, Nicholas and Gigi Griffin, Olivia, and Joseph LaRussa; step-grandchildren, Olivia and Sophie Luke; sister, Deborah St. John. She was also survived by her loving and caring companion, John McMeel. Gloria is preceded in death by her husband of nearly fifty years, Kenneth King, Sr.; parents, Bill and Margaret St. John; siblings, Sylvia Parks, Jimmy St. John, and Slugger St. John. Gloria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a blessing to many. She was greatly adored by her family and grandchildren by gathering her loved ones together through her wonderful gift of cooking. In her spare time, she enjoyed oil painting and gardening. Gloria met John McMeel, her companion, five years ago, and they have traveled to many wonderful places. John has been a blessing to Gloria and her family, and they enjoyed their time together. She was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral and was the Director of Religious Education for ten years. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the King family.
