Gloria Fanguy

Gloria Theresa Breaux Fanguy, age 92, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021. She was a native of Bayou Black and a resident of Houma, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday, August 9, 2021, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, August 10, 2021, beginning at 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m.  at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church with burial following in St. Francis de Sales #2 Cemetery.

Gloria is survived by her sons, Barry A. (Gina) Fanguy, Sr., Keith G. (Kelli) Fanguy, Sr., and Gerald J. (Jennifer) Fanguy; daughters, Linda F. (Louis Jr.) Pontiff, Charlene F. LeBlanc, and Karen F. (Kenneth Sr.) Berthelot; sister, Cecile McElroy; grandchildren, Vickie Guidry, Louis  Pontiff, III, Donald Pontiff, Michael LeBlanc, Jr., Cory LeBlanc, Kenneth Berthelot, Jr., Stephen Berthelot, II, Michelle West, Alexis Knight, Courtney Fanguy, Barry Fanguy, Jr., Kimberly Hebert, Keith Fanguy, Jr., Hannah Fanguy, and Bethany Stein; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Donald Anthony Fanguy; parents, Adam and Amy “Mabel” Trahan Breaux; son-in-law, Michael LeBlanc, Sr.; brothers, Eddie, Arthur Sr., and Adam "A.J." Breaux; sisters, Irene Bonvillain, Lucille Theriot, Beatrice Toups, Josephine Hebert.

Gloria was a very spiritual lady and a lifelong parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. She served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a loving wife, mother of six, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, planting a vegetable garden, watching hummingbirds, and spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all whose hearts she touched.
