Glenda Bourgeois

Glenda Marie Evans Bourgeois, age 76, passed away peacefully in her home, Friday December 17, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was a native and longtime resident of Houma.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home Wednesday December 22, 2021 from 10:00 AM until service time at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at St. Frances Cemetery #2.

Glenda is survived by her children, Gerry J. Bourgeois, Jr. (Annette), Brandy B. Luke (Eugene), and Kenneth T. Bourgeois, Sr. (Linda); grandchildren, Nicole Chaisson, Kristine Higginbotham, Keri Bourgeois, Dustin Luke, Kenneth Bourgeois, Jr, and Brandon Bourgeois; fourteen great grandchildren; brother, Ferrell Verret.

Glenda is preceded in death by her parents, Wallace Verret and Thesia Samanie Verret; brother, Donald “Donnie” Verret.

Glenda was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and planning events. Because of her great love and care for others, she excelled in the nursing community which led to a successful career as a nursing director at several medical colleges. Glenda was a natural born teacher who took every opportunity to share her knowledge with others. Her greatest source of love in life were her children.
