Gladys Mayer

Gladys Carrere Mayer, 98, a native and resident of Houma was born February 26, 1923 and died October 26, 2021.

It was Gladys’s wishes and desires, not to have traditional funeral home or church services.  

She is survived by her sons, Frederick T. Mayer, III, and wife Stephanie; and Mark L. Mayer, and wife Roxanne, all of Houma; Her only grandchild, Daniel Mayer of Phoenix, Arizona; three nieces, Gay-Lynn Folse and Laura Folse LeBlanc, and husband Steve, all of Des Allemands, and Donna Carrere of Houma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick T. Mayer, Jr.; her parents, Justilien Carrere and Laura Louviere Carrere; two sisters Rita Mae Carrere and Edith Carrere Folse and her husband Charles Folse; brother Murphy J. Carrere and his wife Marie Carrere.

A very special thank you goes to the employees of Terrebonne Place Senior Assisted Living Home who compassionately cared for Gladys for the past 3-years.

Gladys will be buried on the St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Hall of the St. Francis No. 2 Cemetery.  Chauvin Funeral Home will handle her burial.
