Gladys DeRoche Crochet, 81, a native of Terrebonne and resident of Houma, died at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2017. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Gladys is survived by her sons, Allen and wife Tonia Crochet, and Dwayne and wife Nichole “Nikki” Crochet; daughters Ellen Henry, and Karen Crochet, all of Houma; seventeen grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Gladys is also survived by her three puppies, Zack, Zoey, Coco. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Chester Crochet; parents Vincent and Vena DeRoche; brothers, Duffy, Johnny, Sidney, and Clarence (Speedy) DeRoche; sisters, Aline Fazzio, Irene Lajaunie, and June Pinell. Gladys was a retired bus driver and restaurant owner and a parishioner of Our lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. On her pastime, Gladys loved to read and play bingo. She was a prayer warrior and faithfully recited her rosary every day. Gladys was the last sibling out of eight to pass away. She now reunites with her beloved husband, brothers, and sisters. She now rests in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Crochet family.
