George is preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Lua Rita Falgout Price; son, Jody Price; parents Sheldon and Lucille Bouquet Price; sister, Elma White; brothers Herbert, Harold, Lloyd and wife Rose, Donald and wife Janet, and Charles Price.

George was born on October 07, 1927 in Bourg, Louisiana to Sheldon and Lucille Price. As a small child he lived on a houseboat with his parents, his eight brothers and one sister. The family moved to Shell Beach (St. Bernard Parish) and then settled in Houma, Louisiana to finish raising their family.

George met and married his beloved wife, Lua Rita Falgout. The couple enjoyed 66 years of a marriage. It was a true love story of loyalty and commitment. Together they raised six children, 5 sons and 1 daughter. He was a devoted husband and father.

George, also lovingly called "Pops",  loved to fish, hunt, trawl and build things. He loved the bayou life and he instilled that love in his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed multiple camps on Last Island with his immediate family and then built one for his own family. His brothers, sons, and daughter all owned trawl boats and would trawl alongside one another year after year, competing on who could catch the most shrimp. The greatest of memories were made on the water, at the camp, and on Last Island.

Tradition and family were important to George and Rita. They prepared Sunday dinners from their large vegetable garden along with the fresh seafood caught trawling. After dinner, a hot cup of coffee was shared amongst the family.  Holidays were spent laughing, drinking a glasses of Mogan David, preparing homemade cherry ice cream, and arm wrestling competitions.  Everyone was always welcomed in their home with family and friends stopping by to visit and drink coffee. Seafood boils were frequent, and you would often find him drinking an ice cold Miller Light.

George was a jack-of-all trades, a hardworking man who taught his children everything he knew. His children looked up to him in many ways and they all would describe him as their hero and the best daddy anyone could ever ask for. He was the greatest of all men in their eyes and his shoes were hard to fill. All wanted to live up to his standards. He adoringly called everyone sha and when we would tell him we loved him, he would say “I love you more!”

George had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He was the best storyteller! He often told stories of when he was a little boy in St. Bernard, or building the camp with Rita, trawling with his family, and his experiences as a boat captain working for Texaco for 38 years. You would find him listening to music, singing, slow dancing with the love of his life, working in his garden, building or repairing something, cutting his grass, or teaching his grandchildren and great grandchildren Cajun French.  He truly enjoyed the simple and greatest life.

In the end, he looked forward to the day he could join his beloved, Rita and Jody, along with his mother, father, brothers and sister.  It gives us great peace knowing that he has reunited with them.

We were blessed to have had him as a husband, dad, brother, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great- grandfather, and friend.   He was deeply loved, and we are forever grateful that he belonged to us.  His stories and love of life and family will live on for generations to come in each heart and mind his life touched!

Due to the recent health concerns and the restrictions in accordance with limited gatherings, the funeral services will be held privately by the immediate family. Friends are encouraged to view and leave a memory for the family on our website www.chauvinfuneralhome.com. The family thanks everyone for their understanding during this difficult time.
