George Willard McCoy Sr., age 89, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 6, 2021. He was a native of Pembroke, GA and a resident of Houma, LA.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Bernadette Catholic Church on Friday, November 12, 2021, beginning at 10:30 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. with burial following in St. Francis de Sales #2 Cemetery.
George is survived by his wife of 66 years, Janet Marie Ledet McCoy; sons, George W. McCoy Jr. and wife, Cindy, and Greg G. McCoy and companion, Joyce; daughter-in-law, Angela D. McCoy; grandchildren, Joe McCoy and wife, Denise, April M. Broussard and husband, Ryan, Marcie McCoy and companion, Paul, Mikki M. Lodrigue and husband, Jesse “Rock”, Jena McCoy, Ian McCoy; great-grandchildren, Haydn McCoy, Sarah McCoy, Cassie Lodrigue, Cameron Lodrigue, Trent Lodrigue, Alexis Lodrigue, Madison Lodrigue, Max Morgan, Cooper Broussard; great-great grandchild, Danuel Lodrigue.
George was preceded in death by his son, Steven W. McCoy; parents, Ernest and Mattie Marie Cox McCoy; daughter-in-law, Gizelle A. McCoy; brother, Walter McCoy and wife, Myrtle; sisters, Hazel M. Delk and husband, Joseph "JL", Betty M. McGahee and husband, James, and Annie M. McGhee and husband, Hugh.
George was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. He was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus. He was retired from Autin Packing Company, was the owner of M & M Provision, and his last place of employment was at Greg LeBlanc Toyota where he was known as “The Man”. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, trawling, driving for car dealerships, and spending time with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all whose hearts he touched.
