George Karl, Jr.

George “Red” Henry Karl, Jr., died 81 on Sunday, August 6, 2017. He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Houma, Louisiana. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Bernadette Catholic Church on Saturday, August 12, 2017 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Frances De Sales Cemetery no 2. Red is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elsie Constance Karl; son, Dennis Michael Karl and wife Nancy; daughter, Suzanne Karl Gelpi and husband Joseph; grandchildren, Miranda Karl Schultz and husband Christian, Jaime Gelpi, and Justin Gelpi; great grandson, Oliver James Schultz; siblings, Robert Karl, John Karl, Barbara Olsen, Raymond Karl. Red is preceded in death by his parents, George Henry Sr. and Mary Laura “Rene” Calvert Karl; brother, Gerald “Buddy” Karl. Red proudly served our Country in the United States Army. Red worked for Sears and retired after thirty five years. On his pastime, Red loved to host bar-be-que for his close friends and fellowship. He adored his grandkids, they were his heart and just recently he became a proud great-grandpa. Chauvin Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to serve the Karl family.
