Genevieve Aucoin Yarmush, age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, she entered this world on July 2, 1938 and went to her heavenly home on November 1, 2021, All Saints Day. Genevieve was a native of Bourg and a resident of Houma.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in Chapel Dauphine of Chauvin Funeral Home on Friday, November 5, 2021, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. A Liturgy of the Word Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with burial in St. Francis Cemetery No. 2.
Genevieve is survived by her children, Susan Adams and husband Rickey Adams of Opelousas, David Yarmush and wife Brandi Voisin of Youngsville, Jenny Guidry and husband Dallas Istre of Gray, Diane LeBlanc of Houma; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren and one on the way; brothers, Lloyd “Butch” Aucoin, Jr., Phillip Aucoin, Sr., Robert Aucoin, Sr., Leslie Aucoin, Stephen Aucoin.
Genevieve is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Aucoin, Sr., and Lela Boquet Aucoin; sister-in-law, Wanda Aucoin; niece, Dana Aucoin; nephew, Seth Aucoin.
Genevieve was a loving woman who loved her family dearly. She loved family gatherings and visiting with her grand and great grandchildren. She loved shopping, enjoyed good food, great music, and loved to dance. Genevieve worked for many years as a postal carrier in Bourg, Louisiana. Genevieve will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Genevieve left this world behind and now looks down with prayers for her family. She is now in her heavenly home and resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
