Gary Trahan

Gary Joseph Trahan, age 69, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 10:30 AM. He was a native and long-time resident of Houma, La.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation for Gary Trahan Monday, December 28, 2020 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until service time at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery #2.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Amy Lynn Trahan; granddaughter, Megan Elizabeth Callahan; sisters, Linda Ann Trahan, Mona Trahan LeCompte and husband Easton LeCompte, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

Gary is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Bergeron Trahan; parents, James J. Trahan and Frances Leonard Trahan; brother, Allen J. Trahan; sisters, Nancy Ann Trahan, Peggy Ann Swan and husband Danny Swan; niece, Adele LeCompte LeBoeuf.

Gary was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He served the Houma Fire Department for 29 years and retired as Captain. Gary was kind to everyone, those he knew and those he didn’t. He enjoyed watching sports, cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Gary loved his three fur babies, Rico, Bella, and Molly. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Sutton; nurses, Rebekah and Danae; and all other staff at TGMC for their kindness, compassion, and care of Gary and the family in their time of need.
