Floyd Robert Breaux, 92, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 5:47pm at home. Floyd was a native and resident of Bayou Black, LA.
Family and friends of the family are invited to a Visitation on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at St. Anthony Catholic Church from 9:00am until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00am at St. Anthony Church. Burial will follow services in Bayou Black Cemetery.
Floyd is survived by his daughter, Yvonne Breaux Jones; great-granddaughter, Morgan Billiot and husband Israel and great-great grandchildren, Carter and Asher, great granddaughter, Gabriella Davis.
Floyd is preceded in death by his wife, Voncile Julia Breaux; parents, Rivers Breaux and Ruby Bergeron Breaux; grand-daughter, Yvette Davis; siblings, Rivers A. Breaux, Kate Holzenthal, Sylvia Tierney, Huey Breaux.
Floyd was a devoted family man who loved to cook for his family and friends and eat with them. He worked for Texaco for forty years before retiring to become a cattle rancher. Floyd also enjoyed working in the garden and was a lifelong gardener. He was a member of the Texaco Chevron Association, and a life-long member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Floyd was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War as an instructor in parachuting and weapon trainer. He also sold War Bonds for the U.S. Army during this time.
Floyd will be missed by his little pet companion, his puppy Gigi. He will be missed by all of his family and friends.
