Floyd Anthony Pitre, 90, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 3:55PM. He was a native and resident of Houma, LA Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Houma, LA from 9:00AM until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin Friday, September 29, 2017 at 11:00AM. Burial will follow Mass in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. Floyd is survived by his loving wife of seventy two years, Carmel Bergeron Pitre; his sons, Richard “Dickie” Pitre and wife Janie and Glynn Pitre; daughter, Barbara Pitre Gauthier and husband Martin Gauthier; grand-children, Anne Villa, Stephanie Mott, Angela Lucas, Margaret Jarrett, Michael Liner, Gregory Liner, Paula Coussou, Jay Whitaker, and Brian Whitaker; seven-teen great grand-children and one great great grand-child. Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, James Pitre and Josephine Leonard Pitre; brothers, Roy Pitre, Ray Pitre, and James Pitre; and sisters, Geraldine Ledet and Mildred Marie. Floyd is a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Armed Forces during World War II. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed working in his vegetable garden. Floyd was a member of the American Legion Post #31. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Pitre family.
