Floyd DeHart, Sr.

July 31, 1932 — September 20, 2022

Floyd Mathew Dehart Sr., 90, a native and resident of Theriot, La died peacefully at 8:27 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 26, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Liturgy will begin at 2 p.m. at Chauvin’s Funeral Home with burial following at St. Eloi Cemetery.

He is survived by his loving children Mary Liner (Randy Sr.) of Houma, La, Houston DeHart of Theriot, La, Charlene Lirette (Avery Sr.) of Houma, La, Daniel DeHart (Mark) of Prairieville, La, Bernard DeHart (Paula) of Theriot, La, Neita Lirette (Dean) of Houma, La, Suzette DeHart of Baton Rouge, La, one brother Wilfred (Possum) DeHart (Janice), and Sister-in-laws Katie DeHart, Mary Jane DeHart, and Dita DeHart. Grandchildren Lloyd DeHart, Randy Jr. (Ashley), Brandon “BJ”, Maranda, and Scottie Liner (Carley), Nicole, Samantha (Mike), and Avery “AJ” Jr. (Iva) Lirette, Alana (Brennan) Hebert, Daislynn (Jared) Kimball, Kalena-Sue DeHart, Richard (Mindy) DeHart, Jake Crifasi (Ciera), Matthew (Kristian) Quebedeaux, Brittany Ponvelle and Tara. Great-grandchildren Austin, Angelle, Aly, Easton, Liam, Pax, Daniel, Brennen, Gabrielle, Kate, Riley, Ava, Brayden, Brayli, Averi, Bernard, Camden, Caysen, Taylor, Kinsley, Cassidy, Chloe, and Rylee.

He is preceded in death by his son Floyd DeHart Jr., daughter Marlene DeHart, mother of his children Rosemary Buras Dehart, parents Adam James and Ida Gray DeHart, siblings Herbert (Mariah), Cyrus (Miriam), Houston, Hilary Eugis, Charles (Gertrude), Easton, Thomas (Brunella), Gardener Leigh, Willard (Gwen), Edmund (Gertie), Nora Lovell (Vincent), Estelle Voisin (Calvin).

He is a Military Veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of St. Eloi Catholic Church, and St. Eloi Knights of Columbus #8779. 

Accompanying him on his journey home is his loving fur-baby Teddy. 

He will be carried to his final resting place by his son Daniel, grandsons Lloyd, Randy Jr., Richard, Scottie, Matthew, Jake, and great-grandson Brennen.
