Eula Mae Bourg Degruise

July 10, 1936 — July 9, 2022

Eula Mae Bourg Degruise, 85, a native of Dulac and a resident of Gray, La, passed away peacefully July 9, 2022 surrounded by family.

Family and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation and recitation of the Rosary at St. Louis Catholic Church on Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 9:00 am to 11:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her loving husband Linsley Degruise; daughters Terry (Mack) Bourgeois, Vicky (Jason) Lyons, Peggy (Mitchel) Camp, Sandy (Kyle) Authement, and Stephanie (Todd) Barrios); and one son Linsley David (Tammy) Degruise Jr; grandchildren, Jessica Bourgeois, Maria (Ray) Braud, Lacy (Chad) Braud, Troy Marcel, Erica Camp, Dace (Anastasia) Camp, Gabrielle (Brock Landry) LeMaire,  Saidee (Seth) Nunnally, Megan (Jeremy) Polk, Ben (Holly) Barker, Billy Barker, Jamie Authement, Zachary Authement, Joshua (Heather) Degruise, Skyler (DeJordan Wolfe) Degruise, Hannah (Colby) Adams; 18 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; her siblings Lilie (Joseph) Sorbert, Ramona (Larry) Charpentier, Emelia Bourg Guilbeau, Jean Ella (Rodney) Leger, Gary Bourg, and Kerry “Pecky” Bourg, Irene Tivet Giroir.

She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Lucita Bourg; one infant son Linsley David Degruise; in-laws Aurlien and Marie Degruise; brothers Calvin Bourg, Danaciene “Chog” Bourg, Robert Bourg (infant), Malone “Blackie” Bourg, Robert “Bob” Bourg, Alexander Bourg (infant), and Joseph Tivet.       

Eula Mae was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She had a great talent for painting ceramics and sewing. Eula Mae was also a member of many doll clubs in the area, and she competed and won many ribbons for her prized dolls. However, the one thing Eula Mae loved and held the closest to her heart was the love of her husband, children, and all her grandchildren. That was the one legacy that she was the proudest to leave behind.

The family would like to thank St. Anne Hospital, Notre Dame Hospice, and Christal Knockum, her long-time loving care giver and friend.
