Eugene Joseph Aycock, age 79, passed away on Friday, January 05, 2018 at Maison De Ville. He was a longtime resident of Bayou Dularge. Eugene was devoted to his Lord and now rest in his arms. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2nd Timothy 4:7.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Eloi Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Eugene is survived by his sister, Julia Aycock Marcel and husband Millard, Sr.; nephews, Barry Marcel and Nolan Aycock and wife Linda; nieces, Yvonne Legendre and husband Perel, Julie Minter, and Sandra Marcel. Eugene is also survived by many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Olivia Babin Aycock; brothers, Emanuel and Louis Aycock; and nephew, Millard Marcel, Jr.
Eugene was a loving brother, uncle, and friend. He was loving, kind, generous, and very special to his family. Eugene worked for the school board with 37 years of service. He was a parishioner of St. Eloi where he received the Bishop Medal for outstanding service. Overall, Eugene was a man of God, he walked by faith and not by sight. He was welcomed home and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank the staff at Maison De Ville Nursing Home for their care and compassion to Eugene.
