Ethel Voisin

June 27, 1929 — August 5, 2021

A private Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, August 23, 2021, at 11:00am at St. Eloi Catholic Church in Theriot for Ethel Marie Voisin Brunet (“Tweedy”), age 92, who passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Terrebonne General Medical Center.

Reverend Dean Danos was the celebrant of the Mass and conducted the funeral services.

Ethel was born in Dularge, LA on June 27, 1929. Her parents were Cyprien and Teresa Voisin. She attended Dularge Elementary and was a graduate of St. Francis Girls School.  She married Kirvie Brunet in 1950 and were married for 71 years at the time of her death.

She enjoyed needlework and quilting, oil painting, fishing, playing cards, and tending to her home and her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She always made sure the needs of her family came first. She loved her family, friends, and food; but above all was her love for Jesus, his mother Mary, and St. Teresa of the Little Flower.  Ethel was loving and compassionate and she will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her four children, Debbie and her husband David, Cathy and her husband Johnny, Byron and his wife Desi, and Barry and his wife Mary; 8 grandchildren, David and Danny Landry, Jermie and Jolie Ball, Brandie, Jacob, and Sarah Brunet, and Aaron Brunet; 6 great grandchildren, Kylah and Makenzy Verdin, Zaiden Duplantis, Emma and Addison Landry, Gavin and Gage Brunet, and David Landry III; and her brother, Nolan Voisin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Wilbert, Chester, Andy, Ray, and Ronnie Voisin: and two sisters, Ruth Grabert and Gloria Champagne.

Pallbearers were her sons, Barry and Byron Brunet; grandchildren, Jeremie Ball, Danny Landry, and Aaron Brunet; and godchild, John Paul Grabert.

The family would like to thank Roslyn Billiot, Cynthia Voisin, Karen Orgeron, and Ramona Alleman for all of their care, love, and compassion and all of the family and friends who have offered their prayers and support. Also, a big thank you to the Dularge Fire Department for their help.

Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ethel Marie Voisin Brunet.
