Ernest (Speedy) (Gramps) Price, Jr., age 87 passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 4:32 a.m. He was a lifelong resident of Houma, La. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, from 8:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Maria Immaculata. Burial will follow in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery. Ernest is survived by his son, Ernest Paul Price and wife Diane of Houma; daughters, Lizbeth and husband Leonard Bonvillain of Houma, Mary Susan and husband Kevin Brehm of Waynesboro, VA, Norma Ann Price of Houma; brother, Claude Price; grandchildren, Michelle Beardslee and husband Dean, Nicholas Murphy, Bradley Bergeron and wife Chastity, Andrew Brehm, Robert “Robbie” Dinger, Jr. and Emily Dinger; great grandchildren, Korinn, Jasmine, Alexis, Olivia, Kyle, Kellon, Violet, Naomi, Lillie, Gabrielle, Claire, Meghan, Keegan, and Tommy. Ernest is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Marguerite Pontiff Price, parents, Clarence and Adele LeCompte Price; brothers, Clarence and Allen Price; sisters, Edelia Boudreaux and Thelma Eschette; grandson, Jason Paul Price. Proprietor of Price Sheet Metal Works, working in the sheet metal industry over fifty years. He first worked for Terrebonne Ford in Houma and as a butcher for Billou’s Meat Market. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and making crab nets. He was a mason and member of St. Georgy Knights of Columbus, and Woodmen of the World and parishioner of Maria Immacolata. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society are preferred. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Price family.
