Obituary:  Elton Joseph LeCompte, Sr.

Elton (FeFe) Joseph LeCompte, Sr., 84, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 4:42 AM.  Elton was a native of Grand Caillou and a resident of Houma, La.  

Family and friends are invited to a Visitation on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 5 PM until 9 PM and continue on Monday, June 21, 2021 at Chauvin Funeral Home until service time. A Liturgy of the Word will follow visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home at 11 AM.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Theresa Boudreaux LeCompte, children Melanie Shipp(Jason) and Elton LeCompte, Jr. (Nicole), grandchildren Mia Shipp, Laurel Shipp, Elton (Tripp) LeCompte III, Griffin LeCompte, and Benton LeCompte, siblings Irma Hebert, Mary Jane Spurgin, Allen LeCompte (Jeannie), Margie Duplantis (Jimmy), Cecile Allemand (Terry), James LeCompte, and Marlene Chauvin (Glynn), sister-in-laws Annie LeCompte, Barbara Ledet, Beverly Gautreaux, and Ester Willis (David)

He is preceded in death by his parents Fedinand and Eva Fanguy LeCompte, siblings Ismay Duplantis (Nelson), Ferdinand (Pele) LeCompte, Jr., Franklin LeCompte (Katherine), father & mother-in-law Henry and Ester Boudreaux, brother-in-laws Kenneth Hebert and Everette Spurgin, sister-in-law Jeanne Carrere (Nin).

FeFe loved life and lived it to the fullest! He loved to travel, ride his motorcycle, and buy and sell heavy equipment at auctions.  You’d never see him without a smile on his face and he had a great sense of humor. He never met a stranger, treating strangers as friends, and friends as family. His biggest smiles were reserved for when his grandchildren were around.  He was also very charitable, having a big heart that was always ready to help someone in need without expecting anything in return.  He was known for his toughness and love of hard work, beginning with his time serving in the U.S. Army, then by working in the oilfield construction business all of his life. He was a founding part-owner of LL&G Construction along with his brother Allen and close friend, Aubrey Guidry. His greatest joy in life was the time spent with his family who will miss him dearly, but are grateful for the time spent together.
