Ellen Davenport

Ellen Lena Davenport, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018. She was a native of Covington and a resident of Houma.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Francis De Sales Cathedral Church on Saturday, July 28, 2018 beginning at 9:30 am until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am. Burial will be held in St. Francis de Sales #2 Cemetery.

Ellen is survived by her cousin, Edward N. Weisheit, Jr and wife, Marian.

Ellen is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Howard and Louise Buquet Davenport.

Ellen was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. She was a member of Catholic Daughter Court Cardinal Gibbons #177, Kappa Kappa Iota, and Gamma Conclave (Honorary Teacher's Sorority. She was a retired school teacher for the Terrebonne Parish School Board at the following schools (Boudreaux Canal, Houma Junior High. Houma Elementary, Legion Park, and Evergreen Junior High). She enjoyed traveling, Mardi Gras, gardening, and was an avid reader. Special thanks to Dr. Russell Henry and staff, Heritage Manor Nursing Home, and Haydel Memorial Hospice.
