Dorothy Jane Dubose Dupre’, age 86 passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 4:15 p.m. surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Hayes, Louisiana and a native of Houma, Louisiana. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the graveside service at Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery in Indian Bayou, LA on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Dorothy is survived by her sons, Johnny Dupre’, and Robert Dupre’ and Deborah; grandson, Tyger Dupre’; granddaughter, Jennifer Dupre’; great-grandchildren, Kamryn Naquin, Madison Sellers, and Christian Dupre’; sisters, Virginia Dubose Draper, Joyce and husband Carl Mangum. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Otis Dupre’; parents, Clyde and Ila Linscombe Dubose; son, Geoffrey Dupre’; daughter, Jacquline “Jackie” Dupre’; grandson, Otis Wayne Dupre’; granddaughter, Cindy Sellers; brother, Thomas John Dubose; sisters, Mary Evelyn “Boots” Dubose Milsaps, Esther Mae Dubose Thien, and Laura Ann Dubose Chadwell. Dorothy was a loving wife to her husband Otis and adored her beautiful children. She was very selfless and caring to others, anyone who knew her loved her and appreciated her kindness. She touched everyone she met with love and inspiration. She volunteered at the Red Cross of America and the First Methodist Church in Houma. Dorothy worked in the public-school system with thirty-years of service. She left an endearing mark on Houma. She enjoyed her years of teaching, but most of all cared and educated her students were most important to her. The family would like to thank Dorothy’s caretaker Becky Manis for her loving care and compassion and Paul with South Louisiana Hospice for his caring and medical attention.
