Dorothy “Dottie” Donaldson, age 72, passed away at her residence on Sunday, August 1, 2021. Dottie was a native of Columbia, Mississippi, a longtime resident of Houma, Louisiana and a recent resident of New Iberia, Louisiana

Due to the COVID-19 mask mandates that are now in affect for all indoor gatherings.  Masks must be worn to attend.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in Chapel Dauphine of Chauvin Funeral Home on Thursday, August 5, 2021 beginning at 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Gregory Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with burial at St. Francis Cemetery No. 2.

Dottie is survived by her loving husband of forty-six years, Larry Donaldson, Jr.; son, Larry Donaldson III and wife Andrea; beloved granddaughter, Emma Grace Donaldson; mother, Georgia Ann Portero; siblings, Patty LaBruyere, Susan Daigle and husband Bobby, Kenny Portero and wife Elma, Peggy Fazzio and husband Barry, Douglas Portero and wife Ramona; mother-in-law, Alice Donaldson; sisters-in-law, Hope Brunet and husband Ralph, Susan LeDoux, Cindy Butler and husband Tim.

 Dottie is preceded in death by her father, Antonia Portero; brother, Paul Portero; father-in-law, Larry Donaldson, Sr.; brother-in-law, Darryl “Pookie” LaBruyere.

Dottie was a loving and blessed wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family dearly but adored her only granddaughter, Emma. She enjoyed family gatherings and cross stitching. Dottie worked for Haydel Medical Clinic until her retirement with twenty-eight years of service. Dottie will be missed by all who knew her. She has now been reunited with those who passed before her and now rests in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
