Donald Picou

July 23, 1955 — June 21, 2021

Donald John Picou, age 65, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 21, 2021. Donald was a native of Thibodaux and a longtime resident of Houma and New Orleans.      2 Timothy, I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in the Magnolia Chapel of Chauvin Funeral Home at 5899 Hwy 311 Houma, LA 70360, on Friday, June 25, 2021 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Francis Cathedral on Saturday, June 26, 2021 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery No. 2.

Donald is survived by partner, Todd Fletcher; daughter, Stacey Briolo and husband Curtis; son, Corey Picou and wife Ginger; grandchildren, Luke and Kathryn Briolo, Grace, Ava, and Jude Picou; brother, Floyd Picou, Jr. and wife Brenda; brother-in-law, Harold Crochet. Donald is also survived by his nieces, Lori, Lisa, Liz; and one nephew, Karl; along with many other great nieces and nephews.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Picou, Sr. and Theresa Use’ Picou; sister, Anne Picou Crochet; former partner, Aaron Portier.

Donald was an extrodinary man with many talents. He loved all and had a contagious smile. Anyone who knew Donald, knew that he made each and everyone feel special. Donald worked thirty-six years with Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government as Comptroller. He was a loving partner, father, grandfather and friend to many. Donald was an avid gardner and enjoyed traveling and dinning out, and visiting with family and friends. Donald was strong in his faith, loved and served his Lord. He leaves this world behind to be united with his family who passed before him and now rests in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The family would like to thank all who participated in cared and prayed for Donald.
