Dixie Heigl Schaefer will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting her. She had a positive spirit, incredible energy, and empathy for all, that drew people to her like a magnet. She always remembered things that made people happy, forever placing others before herself. Dixie was born on October 29, 1964. She was a true follower of Christ, and passed away on February 9, 2021 fully confident, ready, and willing to further serve the Lord, as he sees fit. “Forever Love Dixie”. Dixie was a native of Houma and a resident of Baton Rouge.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, February 13, 2021 in Chapel Dauphine of Chauvin Funeral Home beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Dixie’s celebration of Life Service will begin at 4:00 p.m.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions, mask are mandatory and social distancing should be practiced.
Dixie is survived by her husband, Riecke Schaefer; children, Lee Arceneaux, Jr. (Jessica), Brad Arceneaux (Katie), Brian Arceneaux (Kayla Naquin); stepson, Jason Schaefer; grandchildren, Aidan Arceneaux, Katelyn Brooks, Stanley and Brady Arceneaux; father, Richard Heigl, Sr.; brothers, Richard Heigl, Jr. (Denise), Jon Heigl; sister, Melinda Cassel. Dixie is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Dixie is preceded in death by her mother, Connie Frisch Heigl.
